Why Won't The Detroit Lions Coach Tell People What His Favorite Movie Is?

We all have a "favorite" movie, the go-to film that we can watch again and again. Mine is the original _Die Ha_rd. And when you are in this line of work, you need to be prepared to answer the Favorite Movie question, because you are asked it a lot. NFL football coaches do NOT get asked about favorite movies that often (why would they?), but if and when they are asked about it, they need a better answer than the one Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell gave to beat reporters in Michigan:

The horror films resurgence of the last few years has been a remarkable thing to watch: some of the most exciting new filmmakers to emerge have been working in the genre, and plenty of masters have been doing some of the best work of their careers. And, unsurprisingly, given that waking up every morning in 2017 has been like stepping into a John Carpenter nightmare, the last 12 months has seen the horror boom bigger than ever. Showtime’s The Loudest Voice in the Room adds Miller, MacFarlane & more Showtime has announced that Golden Globe nominee Sienna Miller ( Layer Cake ), Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Seth MacFarlane ( Family Guy ), Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Simon McBurney ( The Theory of Everything ) and Annabelle Wallis ( Peaky Blinders ) have joined the cast of the network’s upcoming eight-episode limited series about Fox News founder Roger Ailes. Based on extensive reporting by Gabriel Sherman for his bestselling book, The Loudest Voice in the Room , the series stars Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Russell Crowe ( Gladiator , A Beautiful Mind ) in the title role and Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts as Gretchen Carlson.
